Respect your Parents before its Too Late

Another reminder, a heart-softening short clip by Shaykh Muhammad Hussain Ya3qoob & shaykh Muhammad Hassan.

Abu Hurayrah radi Allaahu 3Anhu reported that the Prophet sallAllaahu 3Alayhi wa-sallam said: “May he be disgraced! May he be disgraced! May he be disgraced, whose parents, one or both, attain old age during his life time, and he does not enter Jannah (by rendering being dutiful to them)”.

[Saheeh Muslim]

A heart-breaking call from a mother & some beautiful words of advice from Shaykh Nabeel Al-3Awady.

Respecting Parents…A reminder

A reminder for first and foremost myself & for each of you, specially our youth. A reminder about an important issue which we neglect or don’t take seriously.

“And your Lord has decreed that you worship none but Him. And that you be dutiful to your parents. If one of them or both of them attain old age in your life, say not to them a word of disrespect, nor shout at them but address them in terms of honour”.

And lower to them the wing of humility out of mercy and say, “My Lord, have mercy upon them as they brought me up [when I was] small.” [soorah Al-Isra, v:23-24]

May Allaah make us understand our responsibility towards our parents & may He make us all treat our parents with the best treatment & may He forgive us and forgive them. Aameen

Cooking, Cleaning, washing, preparing clothes for school, preparing lunch box, cleaning our rooms, taking care of our stuff, lunch, breakfast, dinner & yeah taking care of big boss ya3ni Husband, his mood & of small stuff, our homework, tests & assignments, parties, family gathering, what to give, what to wear.

Taking care of her family, her in laws, calling back home to inquire about their well being, going for appointments, staying up at night with sick child, unexpected guests, visitors, making favorite dishes, weekend stuff and the list can go on and on.

SubhanAllaah, we can never repay or thank our mothers but we are good at giving back her answer, shouting, screaming, not listening to her, showing attitude, ignoring her.

may Allaah forgive our shortcomings & sins & the way we treat our mothers and our fathers & may Allaah subhaanahu wa ta3alaa give our parents the best reward. Make du3aa for your parents and be good to them

“And We have enjoined on man to be good and dutiful to his parents” [soorah Al-3Ankaboot, v:8]

Abu Hurayrah radi Allaahu 3Anhu said: “A man came to the Messenger of Allaah sallAllaahu 3Alayhi wa sallam and said, ‘O Messenger of Allaah, who among the people is most deserving of my good companionship?’ He said, ‘Your mother.’

The man asked, ‘Then who?’ He said, ‘Your mother.’ He asked, then who?’ He said, ‘Your mother.’

He asked, ‘Then who?’ He said, ‘Your father.’”
