The Hour will fall on a Friday

bism (2)

The Hour will Fall on a Friday (Jumu3ah):

Abu Hurayrah reported the Messenger of Allaah SallAllaahu 3Alayhi wa Sallam as saying:

The best day on which the sun has risen is Friday; on it Adam was created. on it he was made to enter Paradise, on it he was expelled from it. And the last hour will take place on no day other than Friday. (1)
hour on friday

Every Creature Fear the Day of Friday:

It was narrated that Abu Lubaabah ibn 3Abd al-Mundhir said: The Prophet SallAllaahu 3Alayhi wa Sallam said:

Friday is the master of days, and the greatest of them before Allaah. It is greater before Allaah than the day of al-Adha and the day of al-Fitr.

It has five characteristics: on this day Allaah created Adam, on it He sent Adam down to the earth, on it Allaah caused Adam to die, on it there is a time when a person does not ask Allaah for anything but He gives it to him, so long as he does not ask for anything haraam, and on it the Hour will begin.

There is no angel who is close to Allaah, no heaven, no earth, no wind, no mountain and no sea that does not fear Friday.” (2)

Al-Sanadi said:

“They fear Friday” means they fear the onset of the Hour. This indicates that all created beings are aware of the days and they know that the Day of Resurrection will come on a Friday.

Every Living Being Fear the Day of Friday Except Human & Jinn:

In a lengthy Hadeeth, narrated from Abu Salamah ibn 3Abd al-Rahmaan that Abu Hurayrah said: The Messenger of Allaah SallAllaahu 3Alayhi wa Sallam said:

The best day on which the sun rises is Friday. On it Adam was created, on it he was sent down (to earth), on it his repentance was accepted, on it he died and on it the Hour will begin.

There is no living being but it is in a state of apprehension on Friday from dawn until sunrise fearing the onset of the Hour, except jinn and mankind……” (3)

It was narrated that Abu Hurairah said: “I went out to At-Tur and met Ka3b. He and I spent a day together, when I narrated things to him from the Messenger of Allah SallAllaahu 3Alayhi wa Sallam and he narrated things to me from the Tawrah. I said to him: The Messenger of Allah SallAllaahu 3Alayhi wa Sallam said:
The best day on which the sun rises is Friday. On this day, Adam was created, on this day he was sent down, on it repentance was accepted, on this day he died, and on this day the Hour will begin. There is no living creature on Earth that does not listen out from Friday morning until the sun rises, fearing the onset of the Hour, except the son of Adam…” (4)

Got A Grudge?

1

It was narrated from Aboo Hurayrah (may Allaah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allaah sallAllaahu 3Alayhi wassallam said:

The gates of Jannah are opened on Mondays and Thursdays, and every slave (of Allaah) who does not associate any partners with Allaah is forgiven, except a man between whom and his brother there is some grudge (1)

It is said, “Wait for these two until they reconcile, wait for these two until they reconcile, wait for these two until they reconcile.’” (2)

Ibn Raslaan said:

It seems that if one of them seeks to reconcile with the other but he does not accept it, the one who seeks reconciliation will be forgiven. (3)

It is narrated from Abu Ayyoob radiAllaahu 3Anhu that the Prophet sallAllaahu 3Alayhi wassallam said:

It is not permissible for a Muslim to forsake his brother for more than three days, each of them turning away from the other when they meet. The better of them is the first to greet the other with salaam.” (4)

imagesAl-Nawawi said:

“The better of them is the first to greet the other with salaam” – this is the evidence for the view of al-Shaafa3ee and Maalik and those who agree with them, that the greeting of salaam ends the forsaking, and removes sin from the person (5)

Fasting Taasoo3aa’ with 3Aashooraa’

besm4

Prophet sallAllaahu 3Alayhi wa sallam said:

For fasting the day of 3Aashooraa’, I hope that Allaah will accept it as expiation for the year that went before.” (1)

Mustahabb (encouraged) to fast Taasoo3aa’ with 3Aashooraa’:

3Abd-Allaah ibn 3Abbaas radi Allaahu 3Anhuma said: “When the Messenger of Allaah sallAllaahu 3Alayhi wa sallam fasted on 3Aashooraa’ and commanded the Muslims to fast as well, they said, ‘O Messenger of Allaah, it is a day that is venerated by the Jews and Christians’

The Messenger of Allaah sallAllaahu 3Alayhi wa sallam said:

If I live to see the next year, in-shaa’-Allaah, we will fast on the ninth day too.’

But it so happened that the Messenger of Allaah sallAllaahu 3Alayhi wa sallam passed away before the next year came.” (2)

Al-Shaafa3ee and his companions, Ahmad, Ishaaq and others said:

It is mustahabb [recommended] to fast both the ninth and the tenth, because the Prophet sallAllaahu 3Alayhi wa sallam fasted the tenth and intended to fast the ninth.

Wisdom Behind Fasting Taasoo3aa’ with 3Aashooraa’

If one were to ask, what is the wisdom behind fasting the ninth as well as the tenth?  The answer is:

Al-Nawawi (may Allaah have mercy on him) said:

The scholars among our companions and others said that there are several reasons for recommending fasting on the ninth day (Taasoo3aa’):

1. The intention behind it is to be different from the Jews who limit their fasting to the tenth day. This was narrated from Ibn 3Abbaas.

2. The intention was to join the fast of 3Aashooraa to another day, just as it is not allowed to fast on a Friday on its own [but it is allowed if one fasts the day before or the day after as well].

3. The idea is to be on the safe side and make sure one is fasting on the tenth, in case the moon sighting was not accurate and what people think is the ninth is actually the tenth.

The strongest of these reasons is in order to be different from the People of the Book.

fasting taasoo3aa

Shaykh al-Islaam Ibn Taymiyah said:

The Prophet sallAllaahu 3Alayhi wa sallam forbade resembling the People of the Book in many ahaadeeth. For example, he said concerning 3Aashooraa: “If I live until next year I will certainly fast the ninth.” (3)

Ibn Hajar (may Allaah have mercy on him) said, commenting on the hadeeth “If I live until next year I will certainly fast the ninth”:

His concern to fast the ninth may be understood as meaning that he would not limit himself to that, rather that he would add it to the tenth, either to be on the safe side, or to be different from the Jews and Christians, which is more likely to be correct; this is what may be understood from some of the reports narrated by Muslim.” (4)

Based on this, there are different ways of fasting 3Aashooraa, the least of which is to fast the tenth only, but it is better to fast the ninth as well. The more one fasts in Muharram, the better.

Fasting Only On the Day of 3Aashooraa’:

Shaykh al-Islaam said:

Fasting on the day of 3Aashoraa’ is an expiation for a year, and it is not makrooh to fast only that day”. (5)

Ibn Hajar al-Haytami said:

There is nothing wrong with fasting only on 3Aashooraa’.” (6)

only 3Aashooraa'

The Permanent Committee for Islaamic Research and Fataawa said:

It is permissible to fast the day of 3Aashooraa’. (tenth day of Muharram) just one day, however, it is better to fast the day before it or the day after it (also)”. (7)

Taraweeh Reminder [A must read]

bismillah (2)A timely reminder for all brothers & sisters.

During Ramadaan, a similar scene is witnessed every day in the Masjid. Despite daily reminders by the care takers of the Masjid, or a kind Naseehah by the Imaam, the same thing is repeated almost every day, both in Men & women’s prayer area/hall.

Please make sure to “Turn off” your Mobiles or make them on “Silent Mode” when going for Taraweeh

Please Respect the House of Allaah. It is very distracting & causes annoyance to the worshipers, specially if it is Musical ring tone.

Some Tips:

  • Turn off/ your mobile or Turn it on Silent mode before going for Taraweeh.
  • Inform your friends, family, not to call you after 3Ishaa’ as you will be going for Taraweeh in Ramadaan.
  • Keep the Ringing volume on the lowest volume (in case you forget to make it silent)  (or Leave your mobile phones at home.
  • Sisters, please keep your mobile phones in your hand-bags.
  • Change the (musical) Ring tone to the Normal old styled phone Ring bell.
  • Do NOT check or reply to SMS messages after every 2 rak3ah of taraweeh. This doesn’t let the person to concentrate as the mind is constantly thinking about the message/ reply etc.
  • If you can, print a poster (Turn off your mobile) and hang it on the wall of the Masjid.

switch-your-mobiles-off-in-the-mosque

And a reminder to sisters, please cover the feet when going outside the house or for Taraweeh. Its fard to cover the feet during salaah.

Recite the Qur’aan Much Before it is Taken Away

Bismillaah - Copy 3AbdAllaah ibn Mas3ood said:

“Recite the Qur’aan much before it is taken away”

They said, “These Mus-hafs will be taken away! What about that which is (memorized) in Men’s hearts?”

He said: “Something will come and take it one night, and in the morning they will wake up without it. They will forget the phrase laa ilaaha ill-Allaah’ and they will start to recite the sayings and poetry of the Jaahiliyyah. That is when the Word will be fulfilled against them.” (1)

In another narration, 3AbdAllaah ibn Mas3ood said:

“Something will come and take the Qur’aan one night and not one aayah will be left, either in the Mus-haf or in the heart of any person, but it will be taken away.” (2)

3Amr ibn Deenar (d. 126 A.H.)said:

“I have met the Companions of the Prophet sallAllaahu 3Alayhi wa sallam and those that came after them for seventy years. All of them said: “Allaah is the Creator and everything besides Him is created, and the Qur’aan is the kalaam of Allaah, from Him it came, and to Him it will return.”” (3)

quran sky

Tabaraani narrated that Ibn Mas3ood radi-Allaahu 3Anhhu said: “This Qur’aan will most certainly be taken away from amongst you.”

He was asked: “O Abu 3Abd al-Rahmaan, how will it be taken away when it is so deeply rooted in our hearts and is written in our mus-hafs?”

He said: “Something will come to it at night, then there will be nothing left of it in people’s hearts or in the mus-haf, and the next morning the people will be like animals.”

Then he recited the aayah (interpretation of the meaning):

“And if We willed, We could surely, take away that which We have revealed to you (i.e. this Qur’aan). Then you would find no protector for you against Us in that respect” [soorah Al-Israa’ , v:86] (4)

Imaam Ibn Taymiyah (may Allaah have mercy on him) said:

“At the end of time, something will come to it at night in the Mus-hafs and in people’s hearts,  then there will not be left one word of it in people’s hearts or one letter of it in the Mus-haf.” (5)

cropped-ShareIslam_Quran2

Allaah revealed the Qur’aan as a guidance to mankind and He guaranteed to protect it. It is the eternal miracle of the Prophet sallAllaahu 3Alayhi wa sallam and it will remain, and people of earlier and later generations will learn from it and be guided by it,

But at the end of time, just before the Hour comes, Allaah will take the souls of the believers, and there will be no one left on earth except the most evil of people. There will be no prayer, no fasting, no Hajj and no charity (zakaah). Then there will be no point in the Ka3bah being there or in the Qur’aan remaining among mankind, so Allaah will decree that the Ka3bah be destroyed at the hands of a kaafir from Ethiopia. (6)

And Allaah will take the Qur’aan away from the earth, and not one aayah of it will be left in the mus-hafs or in people’s hearts.

Allaah will not permit His Book to remain on earth if it is not benefiting anyone and no one is acting in accordance with it. So this thing will come to pass.

Advice:

This frightening event makes the sincere Muslim hasten to pay attention to the Book of Allaah, to learn it, memorize it, recite it and ponder its meanings, before the Book is taken away. (Build A Daily Relationship with Qur’aan)

recite-the-quran

This is one of the tribulations that will happen at the end of time, concerning which our Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said:

Hasten to do good deeds before tribulations come like patches of dark night, when a man will wake up as a believer and by evening he will be a kaafir, or in the evening he will be a believer and by morning he will be a kaafir, selling his religion for some worldly gains.” (7)

Bismillah1A bitter truth, a sad reality of many Muslims.

A 2 minutes short clip, must watch for all.

The Prophet SalAllaahu 3Alayhi wa sallam said:

“A slave may pray and have nothing recorded for it except a tenth of it, or a ninth, or an eighth, or a seventh, or a sixth, or a fifth, or a quarter, or a third, or a half.” (1)

The Prophet SalAllaahu 3Alayhi wa sallam said: “The worst type of thief is the one who steals from his prayer”.

He was asked: ‘O Messenger of Allaah, how can a person steal from his prayer?’

He said: ‘By not doing rukoo3 and sujood properly.” (2)

And he SalAllaahu 3Alayhi wa sallam said: ‘The one who does not do rukoo3 properly, and pecks in sujood, is like a hungry man who eats only one or two dates; it does not do him any good at all.’” (3)

An Inspirational True Story & a Resolution

flower bismAn Inspirational true story happened to a Qur’aan teacher in Egypt & narrated by her colleague to her students.

A Qur’aan teacher always advised her students to live by this aayah:

وَعَجِلْتُ إِلَيْكَ رَبِّ لِتَرْضَى

“and I hastened to You, O my Lord, that You might be pleased.”
[soorah TaaHaa, v:84]

She told them, “This aayah is what moves me. When I hear the Adhaan and I’m in occupied and the middle of something, I remind myself of this aayah and so I get up to pray.”

“When my alarm goes off at 2:00 am (Tahajjud) and I want to go back to sleep I remember: “and I hastened to You, O my Lord, that You might be pleased” and so I get up.

Her husband had the following arrangement with her: on his way home from work he would call her so she will get the food hot & ready; so he can come home and eat &  sleep.

Stuffed-Grape-Leaves
One day he asked her to make Mahshi (stuffed grape leaves with rice – very time consuming. You wrap many of them and put the pot of them on the stove to cook).

She had 3 more to wrap then she had to put them on the stove to cook.

But the Adhaan came in…

So she left the 3 remaining grape-leaves (which would have taken her 5 minutes) and went to pray.

Her husband kept calling & calling but there was no answer. He came home and found her in Sujood and food not ready. He saw there were only 3 grape-leaves left. So he was upset & said:

“You could have just finished them & put the pot to cook then pray!”

No response.

He went to her to discover she had died in her Sujood!

SubhaanAllaah, had she waited like any of us to “finish whats in her hand”, she would have died in the kitchen!

But a person dies upon what they lived on and by, & they are resurrected on what they died on. (*)

Prophet SallAllaahu 3Alayhi wa Sallam said : “‘Every person will be resurrected in the manner that he died.’” (1)

Resolution: (*)

Let’s make a resolution:

*For sisters, leave everything, get up & pray as soon as the adhaan calls in, [maximum after 20 minutes (iqaamah time)]

3Abdullaah narrated: “I asked the Prophet SallAllaahu 3Alayhi wa Sallam: “Which deed is the dearest to Allaah?”

He replied, “To offer the prayers at their early stated fixed times.” (2)

*For brothers, as soon as you hear the Adhaan, do wudoo’ & go to the Masjid.

keep reminding yourself:

“and I hastened to You, O my Lord, that You might be pleased.”

* True story shared by a sister, who also suggested the resolution.May Allaah accept it from her and may it be a source of sadaqah-e-Jaariyah for her. Aameen
