75-Year-Old Yemeni Man walked Over 2 months For Hajj

bismillah_f

Allaah says

(interpretation of the meaning):

“And proclaim to mankind the Hajj (pilgrimage). They will come to you on foot and on every lean camel, they will come from every deep and distant (wide) mountain highway (to perform Hajj)”

[soorah Al-Hajj, verse:27]

A 75-year-old Yemeni walks over 2 months to reach Minaa for Hajj.

yemeni man1

Mohammed 3Ali Al-Mirfa3 told Al-Madina newspaper on Thursday that he started his journey from his home  town in Yemen on the third day of Eid Al-Fitr (July 3).

He described his foot journey to be long and exhausting but he said: “I was determined to walk it  regardless of any difficulties.”

Al-Mirfa3 said he bade farewell to his 12 children, wife and relatives and began his journey of a lifetime. He said  he is destitute and does not have anything to lose.

“I was only assisted in my journey by my strong will and determination which my long years have not been able to break,” he said.

When the newspaper met him, he was drinking a cup of tea provided to him by one of the cleaners. He was eating a loaf of bread with the tea.

“This is my breakfast. I am happy to have made it to the sacred Sites,” he said.

yemeni man

Al-Mirfa3 did not say if he had a Hajj campaign to accommodate him in Minaa, 3Arafat and Makkah.

He did not also say how he will go back home.

Maintaining Good Deeds After Ramadaan

Bismillaah - Copy

Here are 6 practical advices on maintaining & sustaining good deeds after Ramadaan. Reflect on the virtues of these good deeds & lets compete with each other to Jannah inshaa’Allaah.

1: Guard your Prayers:

# Don’t miss the Congregation:

It is narrated from Abu Hurayrah that the Messenger of Allaah SallAllahu 3Alayhi wa Sallam said: “A man’s prayer in congregation is twenty-five times better than his praying in his house or marketplace, because when he does wudoo’ and does it well, then goes out to the mosque, only going there to pray, he does not take a single step but he is raised in status and a sin is erased thereby. When he prays, the angels continue to send blessings upon him so long as he is still in the place where he prayed, (saying), ‘O Allaah, send blessings on him, O Allaah have mercy on him.’ And one of you is still in a state of prayer so long as he is waiting for the prayer.” (1)

3Uthmaan ibn 3Affaan said: I heard the Messenger of Allaah SallAllahu 3Alayhi wa Sallam say: “Whoever does wudoo’ for prayer and does wudoo’ well, then walks to (perform) the prescribed prayer, and offers the prayer with the people or with the congregation or in the mosque, Allaah will forgive him his sins.” (2)

# Save yourself from the Fire!

Prophet  SallAllaahu 3Alayhi wa Sallam said: “Whoever prays for forty days with the congregation, always being present for the first takbeer, it will be written that he will be safe from two things: he will be safe from the Fire and safe from hypocrisy.” (3)

# Pray  As soon as the Iqaamah is called (for sisters)

Narrated 3Abdullaah: “I asked the Prophet SallAllaahu 3Alayhi wa Sallam: “Which deed is the dearest to Allaah?” He replied, “To offer the prayers at their early stated fixed times.” (4)

2: Never miss the Regular Sunnah ((Sunnah mu’akkadah):

This is the first wall Shaytaan breaks to break your castle of Salaah.

# Buiilt A house in Jannah:

“Whoever prays twelve rak3ahs during the night and day, a house will be built for him in Paradise: four before Dhuhr and two after, two rak3ahs after Maghrib, two rak3ahs after 3Ishaa’ and two rak3ahs before Fajr prayer.” (5) see footnote for another narration.

# The Sunnah of Fajr:

“The two rak3ahs of Fajr are better than this world and everything in it.”(6). The one who misses the Sunnah prayer before Fajr may offer it after Fajr prayer.

3: Get up 1 (or half an) hour before Fajr and Pray Tahajjud:

# The Best Prayer

“The best prayer after the obligatory prayer is prayer at night.” (7)

# Don’t be a Negligent:

The Messenger of Allaah SallAllaahu 3Alayhi wa Sallam said: “Whoever prays Qiyaam reciting ten verses will not be recorded as one of the negligent. Whoever prays Qiyaam reciting one hundred verses will be recorded as one of the devout. Whoever prays Qiyaam reciting one thousand verses will be recorded as one of the Muqantireen.” (8)

Prophet SallAllaahu 3Alayhi wa Sallam said: “The closest that the Lord is to His slave is in the later part of the night, so if you can be one of those who remember Allaah at that time, then do so.”(9)

# Get all your needs answered by Allaah:

Abu Hurayrah radi Allaahu 3Anhu reported that the Prophet  SallAllaahu 3Alayhi wa Sallam said: “The Lord descends every night to the lowest heaven when one-third of the night remains and says: ‘Who will call upon Me, that I may answer Him? Who will ask of Me, that I may give him? Who will seek My forgiveness, that I may forgive him?'” (10)

4: Have A Daily Qur’aan Sitting,

Have a daily relationship with the Qur’aan. Don’t leave it for next Ramadaan.

Sit for half an hour after Fajr or whenever it will be convenient for you.

Prophet  SallAllaahu 3Alayhi wa Sallam said: Read the Qur’aan, for it will come on the Day of Resurrection interceding for its companions.” (11)

Whoever reads a letter of the Book of Allah will have one hasanah (good deed) for it, and the hasanah (good deed) brings a tenfold reward. I do not say that ‘Alif-Laam-Meem’ is a letter; rather Alif is a letter, Laam is a letter and Meem is a letter.” (12)

# Having Difficulty in Reading:

The Prophet SallAllaahu 3Alayhi wa Sallam said: “A person who recites the Qur’an and masters it by heart, will be with the noble righteous scribes (in Heaven). And a person who exerts himself to learn the Qur’an by heart and recites it with great difficulty, will have a double reward.” (13)

5: Continue Fasting:

# Mondays & Thursdays

Abu Hurayrah radi Allaahu 3Anhu narrated that the Messenger of Allaah SallAllaahu 3Alayhi wa Sallam said: “Deeds are shown (to Allaah) on Mondays and Thursdays, and I like my deeds to be shown when I am fasting.” (14)

3Aa’ishah radi Allaahu 3Anha said: “The Prophet SallAllaahu 3Alayhi wa Sallam was keen to fast on Mondays and Thursdays.” (15)

# Fasting 3 days of every month:

Jareer ibn 3Abd-Allaah radi Allaahu 3Anhu narrated that the Prophet SallAllaahu 3Alayhi wa Sallam said: “Fasting three days of each month is fasting for a lifetime, and ayaam al-beed are the thirteenth, fourteenth and fifteenth.” (16)

Abu Hurayrah radi Allaahu 3Anhu said: “My close friend [the Prophet SallAllaahu 3Alayhi wa Sallam] advised me to do three things which I will not give up until I die: Fasting three days of each month, praying Duha, and sleeping after Witr.” (17)

# Ayyaam Al-Beed

Abu Dharr radi Allaahu 3Anhu said: The Messenger of Allaah SallAllaahu 3Alayhi wa Sallam said to me: “If you fast any part of the month, then fast the thirteenth, fourteenth and fifteenth.” (18)

6: Perform Dhikr:

a) Morning & Evening Adhkaar:

Allaah says:

“And glorify the praises of your Lord before the rising of the sun, and before its setting”  [soorah Ta-Ha, v:130]

“And remember your Lord within yourself, humbly and with fear and without loudness in words in the mornings and in the afternoons” [soorah Al-A3raaf, v: 205]

Read after Fajr & 3Asr salaah, it will only take 10-15 minutes.Make your day productive.

# These Adhkaar are Protection.

The Messenger of Allaah SallAllaahu 3Alayhi wa Sallam said:

“Reciting ‘Qul Huwa Allaahu Ahad’ and al-Ma3wadhatayn [the last two soorahs of the Qur’aan] three times in the evening and in the morning will protect you against everything.” (19)

“If a person says, every day in the morning and every night in the evening:

بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الَّذِي لا يَضُرُّ مَعَ اسْمِهِ شَيْءٌ فِي الأَرْضِ وَلا فِي السَّمَاءِ وَهُوَ السَّمِيعُ الْعَلِيمُ

‘Bismillaah alladhi laa yadurru ma’a ismihi shay’un fi’l-ardi wa laa fi’l-sama’ wa Huwa al-Samee’ al-‘Aleem

(In the name of Allaah with Whose name nothing can cause harm on earth or in heaven, and He is the All-Seeing, the All-Knowing);

three times, nothing will harm him.” (20)

# Sayyid al-Istighfaar

Prophet SallAllaahu 3Alayhi wa Sallam said: “Whoever says this during the day, believing in it with certainty, then dies on that day before evening comes, will be one of the people of Paradise, and whoever says it at night, believing in it with certainty, then dies on that night before morning comes, will be one of the people of Paradise.” (21)

b) Adhkaar Before Sleeping:

# Reading soorah Al-Mulk

Prophet SallAllaahu 3Alayhi wa Sallam said: “A soorah from the Qur’aan containing thirty verses will intercede for a man so that he will be forgiven. It is the soorah Tabaarak Alathi bi yadihi’l-mulk [i.e., Soorat al-Mulk].” (22)

3Abd-Allaah ibn Mas3ood said: “Whoever reads Tabaarak Alathi bi yadihi’l-mulk [i.e., Soorat al-Mulk] every night, Allaah will protect him from the torment of the grave.

At the time of the Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) we used to call it al-maani’ah (that which protects). In the Book of Allaah it is a soorah which, whoever recites it every night has done very well. (23)

# Reciting Aayat-ul-kursi

“When you go to your bed, recite Aayat al-Kursiy, for there will remain with you a guardian from Allaah, and no devil will approach you, until morning comes.” (24)

# Last 2 Aayaat of soorah Al-Baqarah

Prophet SallAllaahu 3Alayhi wa Sallam said: “Whoever recites the last two verses of Soorat al-Baqarah at night, they will suffice him.” (25)

“For you is an Appointed Time”

1

“And for you is an Appointed Time”

[3Umar ibn 3Abd al-3Azeez]

3Umar ibn 3Abd al-3Azeez (rahimahu-Allaah) said in his last khutbah:

[يا أيها الناس]

O people,

Indeed you have not been created for mere play
Nor will you be left in vain

And for you is an appointed time
Wherein Allaah will descend to judge between his servants

Truly the failure is he who has left the Mercy of Allaah
which has encompassed all things

And who has been forbidden from Paradise,
its width as wide as the heavens and the earth

Don’t you see that you are indeed in a destroyed plunder

And those after you shall inherit it

Like that it will be, until it is returned to the Best of Inheritors (Allaah)

And everyday you are going back and forth escorting (someone) to Allaah

His term has been settled
And his life is over

Will you then bid him farewell and call him from the rough and unleveled cracks of the earth?

He has left all provisions
And left his beloved ones
He has settled to live among dust
And is due to face the reckoning

He is free from what he has left behind
And in dire need of what he has put forth

So fear Allaah O servants of Allaah
Before the descent of death and the coming of his time

Indeed, I say this to you
But none knows as much as I do of the sins (I have) earned

But I seek the forgiveness of Allaah and repent to Him

He then lifted the ends of his cloak and weeped.
Then he got down and did not return to the minbar until he passed away.

May the Mercy of Allaah be upon him. Aameen

‘O People, Prepare for Departure!’

She’s My Sister [Beautiful story]

An Inspirational True Story & a Resolution

flower bismAn Inspirational true story happened to a Qur’aan teacher in Egypt & narrated by her colleague to her students.

A Qur’aan teacher always advised her students to live by this aayah:

وَعَجِلْتُ إِلَيْكَ رَبِّ لِتَرْضَى

“and I hastened to You, O my Lord, that You might be pleased.”
[soorah TaaHaa, v:84]

She told them, “This aayah is what moves me. When I hear the Adhaan and I’m in occupied and the middle of something, I remind myself of this aayah and so I get up to pray.”

“When my alarm goes off at 2:00 am (Tahajjud) and I want to go back to sleep I remember: “and I hastened to You, O my Lord, that You might be pleased” and so I get up.

Her husband had the following arrangement with her: on his way home from work he would call her so she will get the food hot & ready; so he can come home and eat &  sleep.

Stuffed-Grape-Leaves
One day he asked her to make Mahshi (stuffed grape leaves with rice – very time consuming. You wrap many of them and put the pot of them on the stove to cook).

She had 3 more to wrap then she had to put them on the stove to cook.

But the Adhaan came in…

So she left the 3 remaining grape-leaves (which would have taken her 5 minutes) and went to pray.

Her husband kept calling & calling but there was no answer. He came home and found her in Sujood and food not ready. He saw there were only 3 grape-leaves left. So he was upset & said:

“You could have just finished them & put the pot to cook then pray!”

No response.

He went to her to discover she had died in her Sujood!

SubhaanAllaah, had she waited like any of us to “finish whats in her hand”, she would have died in the kitchen!

But a person dies upon what they lived on and by, & they are resurrected on what they died on. (*)

Prophet SallAllaahu 3Alayhi wa Sallam said : “‘Every person will be resurrected in the manner that he died.’” (1)

Resolution: (*)

Let’s make a resolution:

*For sisters, leave everything, get up & pray as soon as the adhaan calls in, [maximum after 20 minutes (iqaamah time)]

3Abdullaah narrated: “I asked the Prophet SallAllaahu 3Alayhi wa Sallam: “Which deed is the dearest to Allaah?”

He replied, “To offer the prayers at their early stated fixed times.” (2)

*For brothers, as soon as you hear the Adhaan, do wudoo’ & go to the Masjid.

keep reminding yourself:

“and I hastened to You, O my Lord, that You might be pleased.”

* True story shared by a sister, who also suggested the resolution.May Allaah accept it from her and may it be a source of sadaqah-e-Jaariyah for her. Aameen

Sustaining The Good Deeds After Ramadaan

flower bism

Ramadaan has left us with all its blessings & beautiful days & night. As we struggle to sustain  the good deeds that we did in Ramadaan, here are some helpful tips to maintain some good deeds through out the year inshaa’-Allaah.

Prophet Muhammad SallAllaahu 3Alayhi wa Sallam said: The most beloved deed to Allah is the most regular and constant even though it were little.”

1: Guard your Prayers:

3Abdullaah narrated, “I asked the Prophet SallAllaahu 3Alayhi wa Sallam: “Which deed is the dearest to Allaah?” He replied, “To offer the prayers at their early stated fixed times.” (2)

2: Have A Daily Qur’aan Sitting,

Don’t leave it for next Ramadaan. Have a daily relationship with the Qur’aan

Set a time after Fajr or whenever it will be convenient for you. Prophet  SallAllaahu 3Alayhi wa Sallam said: Read the Qur’aan, for it will come on the Day of Resurrection interceding for its companions.” (3)

Whoever reads a letter of the Book of Allah will have one hasanah (good deed) for it, and the hasanah (good deed) brings a tenfold reward. I do not say that ‘Alif-Laam-Meem’ is a letter; rather Alif is a letter, Laam is a letter and Meem is a letter.” (4)

3: Never Miss the Regular Sunnah ((Sunnah mu’akkadah):

Built A house in Jannah inshaa’Allaah:

Prophet  SallAllaahu 3Alayhi wa Sallam said: “Whoever prays twelve rak3ahs during the night and day, a house will be built for him in Paradise: four before Dhuhr and two after, two rak3ahs after Maghrib, two rak3ahs after 3Ishaa’ and two rak3ahs before Fajr prayer.” (5) see footnote for another narration.

4: Wake-up  Half an hour (or one) before Fajr and Pray Tahajjud:

Prophet  SallAllaahu 3Alayhi wa Sallam said: “The best prayer after the obligatory prayer is prayer at night.” (6)

Have a need?

Want your du3aa’ to be answered?

Abu Hurayrah radi Allaahu 3Anhu reported that the Prophet  SallAllaahu 3Alayhi wa Sallam said: “The Lord descends every night to the lowest heaven when one-third of the night remains and says: ‘Who will call upon Me, that I may answer Him? Who will ask of Me, that I may give him? Who will seek My forgiveness, that I may forgive him?’” (7)

5: Continue Fasting:

3 days of each month Fasting = Fasting life-time.

Prophet SallAllaahu 3Alayhi wa Sallam said: “Fasting three days of each month is fasting for a lifetime, and Ayaam al-Beed are the thirteenth, fourteenth and fifteenth.” (8)

Abu Dharr radi Allaahu 3Anhu said: The Messenger of Allaah SallAllaahu 3Alayhi wa Sallam said to me: “If you fast any part of the month, then fast the thirteenth, fourteenth and fifteenth.” (9)

Fasting Mondays & Thursdays

Messenger of Allaah SallAllaahu 3Alayhi wa Sallam said: “Deeds are shown (to Allaah) on Mondays and Thursdays, and I like my deeds to be shown when I am fasting.” (10)

6: Perform Dhikr:

Surely the people of Jannah when they enter Jannah and they don’t find those companions of theirs who were with them upon good in this world, then verily they will ask Allaah 3Azza wa Jall and they will say: “O Rabb we have brothers who used to pray salaah and fast with us, we do not see them!”

Allaah, jalla wa 3Alaa, will say “Go to the fire and take out any person who had even an atoms amount of Eemaan in their heart!”. (2)

And Hassan Basree (may Allaah have mercy on him) said  “Have lots of believing friends because they will be able to intercede for you on the day of qiyaamah”.

& when the disbeliever will see that, they will say {So now we have no intercessors, And not a devoted friend} (soorah Al-shu3araa)

The loyal friend is one; who walks you to Jannah.

Ibnul Jawzi (may Allaah have mercy on him) said:

“If you don’t find me with you in Jannah then ask about me, so you should say ‘O our Rabb! your slave so-and-so used to remind us about you’!! then he started weeping.

And I ask you… If you don’t find me in Jannah then ask about me, because I reminded you of Allaah even if it was only for one moment.

“Oh Allaah, we ask you for good friends those who will help us in your obedience.” Aameen
