Trials & Calamities Are Medicine

1

Ibn al-Qayyim said:

Were it not that Allaah treats His slaves with the remedy of trials and calamities, they would transgress and overstep the mark.

When Allaah wills good for His slaves, He gives him the medicine of calamities and trials according to his situation, so as to cure him from all fatal illnesses and diseases, until He purifies and cleanses him, and then makes him qualified for the most honourable position in this world, which is that of being a true slave of Allaah (3uboodiyyah), and for the greatest reward in the Hereafter, which is that of seeing Him and being close to Him. O Afflicted One!

Do Not Despair, Put Your Trust In Allaah

flower bism

A beautiful advice, a must watch for all, specially for every distressed person who is overwhelmed by hardships, worries, illness or any diseases.

No one can dispel the worries & remove the sorrows except the Ever-living, the Sustainer of all that exists; the one who neither slumber nor sleep.

The purpose of trials is, so that you flee from Allaah to Allaah. Increase in your du3aa’, plead and beseech Him, for He is more merciful to you than you are to yourself !!

A worth watching short naseehah by shaykh Muhammad Al-Mukhtar Ash-Shinqitee

(Du3aa’)

“Allaahumma inni a3udhu bika min al-hammi wal-huzni wal-3ajazi wal-kasli wal-bukhli wal-jubni wa dala3id-dayni wa ghalabatir-rijaal

“He it is Who Gives Life & causes Death”

Bismillaah - Copy

Indeed it is only Allaah who gives Life and death and Indeed He is all powerful. Nothing can harm you except if Allaah wills..

He it is Who gives life and causes death.

[soorah Ghaafir, v: 68]

& Allaah says in soorah An-Najm:

وَأَنَّهُ هُوَ أَمَاتَ وَأَحْيَا

And that it is He (Allah) Who causes death and gives life.”

Complain To Allaah

“Complain about your situation to Allaah and don’t complain about it to His creation.

Know for certain that all forms of grief or heartache that pass by you are because either He loves you and is therefore testing you, or either He loves you and is therefore purifying you from your sins.”

Shaykh Salih Al-Maghamsi

O Afflicted One!

“O Afflicted One!

Your Lord does not deny you what you want except what is better than that, He does not test you but for your well-being and He does not subject you to tribulations but to purify you. He tries His slaves with pleasure as He blesses them with calamity. Do not therefore waste your time thinking over what has already been guaranteed for you. As long as one is still alive his provision will no doubt come to him”.

You Will Be Your Own Worst Enemy

If the servant of Allaah knows…

If the servant of Allaah knows that he cannot escape nor change the plan of Allaah, he will commit all his affairs to Allaah and throw himself between His hands as a humble servant throws himself between the hands of a mighty king who has authority over him- and indeed the servant has no power of his own.

When the servant knows all that, he will be relieved from all distress and sadness and will pass the burden to Allaah who does not get tired. Allaah will carry them, and show him kindness and mercy without any tiredness. The servant has paid attention to Allaah alone and Allaah paid attention to the needs and benefits of his life and emptied his heart from them, and, as a result, his life will be good and his heart will be happy.

A beautiful story of a Muslimah

Allaah subhaanahu wa ta3aala said in Qur’aan:

وَمَن يَتَّقِ ٱللَّهَ يَجۡعَل لَّهُ مَخۡرَجً۬ا. وَيَرۡزُقۡهُ مِنۡ حَيۡثُ لَا يَحۡتَسِبُۚ وَمَن يَتَوَكَّلۡ عَلَى ٱللَّهِ فَهُوَ حَسۡبُهُ ۥ

And whosoever fears Allaah & keeps his duty to Him, He will make a way for him to get out (from every difficulty).

And He will provide him from (sources) he never could imagine.

And whosoever puts his trust in Allaah, then He will suffice him.”

[soorah At-talaaq, v:2-3]

The below video is a beautiful story of a pious muslimah.

A touchy story of having tawakkul/trust in Allaah subhaanahu wa ta3ala and Allaah’s way of helping His slaves..

Ahad, Ahad !!

Ahad, Ahad !!

Why shed these tears of sorrow?
Why shed these tears of grief?
Yaa nafsy how soon you forget,
After trials come sweet relief

Why turn you from Ar-Rahmaan?
Why yearn for a listening friend?
Yaa nafsy, do you not remember,
On Allaah, you must depend?

Have you not read those stories,
Of the trials in days gone by,
Of the Sahaabah beloved by Allaah,
Who for Allaah’s cause did strive?

Why loosen your hold upon Him?
Why fling away, His outstretched Hand?
Ya nafsy, do you not remember,
Bilal’s Sabr on the blazing sand? “

“Ahad! Ahad!” He cried,
While his flesh did drip and burn.
“Ahad! Ahad!” He cried,
To Allaah alone he turned.

Have you forgotten the firmness of Hamzah,
As the gleaming swords did fall?
With Sabr he turned to Allaah,
As the Quraysh did slice and maul.

Why drown in salty tear drops?
How can you dare compare your pain?
To that of Yasir and Summayah,
As they lay tortured on the scorching plain?

Have you forgotten the charring of Khabbab,
As on burning coals he lay?
Yaa nafsy how meager your suffering,
Wherefore do you lose your way?

Why befriend you not Al-Wali?
Why not in Salaah to Him complain?
Like Job who only to Allaah,
Turned in all his grief and pain?

Forget you that trials in this life,
Cleanse your heart and make it clean?
Yaa nafsy, why all this sadness?
Do you not wish your heart to gleam?

Be patient in all your hardships,
Allaah hears your cries of woe.
So trust Him and His Hikmah,
For He knows best and not you.

So tighten your hold upon Him,
Lest He withdraw His outstretched Hand!
And remember the example of Bilal,
As he lay anchored on the blazing sand.

“Ahad! Ahad!” he cried,
While his flesh did drip and burn.
“Ahad! Ahad!” he cried,
To Allaah alone he turned.
