The Messenger of Allaah sallAllaahu 3Alayhi wa sallam said: "Whoever directs someone to a good, then he will have the reward equal to the doer of the action". [Saheeh Muslim]

bismillah (2)

The month of Rajab has started & this du3aa’ is seen widely shared on many forums, emails, sms & messages..

It is mentioned upon the authority of Anas Ibn Maalik who said: “When (the month of) Rajab would enter (upon us) he (the prophet – SallAllaahu 3Alayhi Wa Sallam) used to say:

اَللّهُمَّ بَارِكْ لَنَا فِى رَجَبَ وَ شَعْبَانَ وَ بَلِّغْنَا رَمَضَان

“Allaahumma Baarik lanaa fee Rajabin Wa Sha’baan wa Balighnaa Ramadaan”

Oh Allaah bless us in Rajab and sha3baan and allow us to reach Ramadaan”

Collected by al Bazzaar and at Tabaraanee.

This Hadeeth/Du3aa’ was declared Da3eef/weak  by Shaykh Al Albaani (1)

Zaa-idah ibn Abee Raaqid is in the chain of narrators; al-Bukhaaree said concerning him; Munkar al Hadeeth. An Nasaa’ee and ibn Hibbaan declared it as inauthentic. (2)

Dua Rajab

Shaykh 3Uthaymeen (rahimahullaah) said concerning this narration:

عن النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم أنه كان يقول إذا دخل شهر رجب: اللهم بارك لنا في رجب وشعبان وبلغنا رمضان ولكن هذا أيها الأخوة وأسمعوا ما أقول هذا حديثٌ ضعيفٌ منكر لا يصح عن النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم ولهذا لا ينبغي للإنسان أن يدعو بهذا الدعاء لأنه لم يصح عن رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم

The narration  that the Prophet SallAllaahu 3Alaihi wa sallam used to say upon entering the month of Rajab: ““O Allaah! Bless us in Rajab & Sha3baan and make us reach Ramadhan”

Dear brothers, listen to what I have to say: This hadeeth is da3eef (weak) & “munkar” (denounced)  and not established as a statement of our Prophet SallAllaahu 3Alayhi wa sallam. Thus, it is impermissible for anyone to supplicate using this du3aa’ because it is not authentically reported from the Prophet.” (3)
